DEATH ANNOUNCEMENT
Mr. Nagaratnam Sivarama
December 12, 1939 – October XX, 2026
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Mr. Nagaratnam Sivarama, originally from Kandarmadam, Jaffna, Sri Lanka, and residing in Richmond Hill, who passed away on October XX, 2026, at the age of 86.
He was the beloved husband of Sakuntala Sivarama;
the deeply loved father of Kalaivani (Vani) Howell;
the cherished grandfather of Blake Howell;
and held a special, deep place in his heart for Kyle Bowles, whom he loved dearly as a son and shared a close bond with through their mutual commitment to veganism;
the beloved brother of the late Sivasubramanium, the late Siva, Sivapalan, Sivasakthy, and Sivaruby.
He will be deeply mourned and lovingly remembered by his wife, daughter, grandson, sisters, brothers, nephews, nieces, and family, together with his extended family, relatives, and friends in Canada, Sri Lanka, England, and around the world.

Relatives, friends, and all those who knew and loved him are respectfully invited to join the family in paying their final respects and bidding him farewell.

Nagaratnam Sivarama was a gentle, kind, yet steadfastly principled man born on December 12, 1939, originally from Kandarmadam, Jaffna, Sri Lanka, and most recently a resident of Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada. He passed away peacefully on October 7, 2026, at the age of 86.
Nagaratnam was a deeply loving husband, father, and grandfather. He leaves behind a devoted wife, a cherished daughter, a beloved grandson, and an extended family, along with a wide circle of friends and fellow advocates in the animal rights community.
Throughout his life, Nagaratnam was a passionate advocate for animals and the cause of veganism. Active within both the Greater Toronto animal rights community and international animal welfare networks, he worked tirelessly to advance the well-being of animals and support organizations dedicated to their protection. His fierce dedication, strong ethical principles, and compassionate heart left an undeniable legacy that touched countlessly many lives. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who were inspired by his lifelong love and activism.
